My Rating: 5/5 Stars
(that's a total lie, more like 10/5 stars!!)

From Goodreads: "Becca Chandler is suddenly getting all the guys all the ones she doesn't want. Ever since her ex-boyfriend spread those lies about her. Then she saves Chris Merrick from a beating in the school parking lot. Chris is different. Way different: he can control water just like his brothers can control fire, wind, and earth. They're powerful. Dangerous. Marked for death.

And now that she knows the truth, so is Becca.

Secrets are hard to keep when your life's at stake. When Hunter, the mysterious new kid around school, turns up with a talent for being in the wrong place at the right time, Becca thinks she can trust him. But then Hunter goes head-to-head with Chris, and Becca wonders who's hiding the most dangerous truth of all.

The storm is coming"

I know I know!! I was incredibly late on the Storm band wagon. I KNOW. I seriously do not know why it took me so long to get my hands on it. I had only heard amazing things about it and I had been dying to read it for so long. It just so happened that I met up with Rebecca from Reading Wishes, who is so lovely she had stalked my goodreads page and saw that I hadn't read it. She had an extra copy so she gave it to me. wha?!! I think my eyes literally bulged out of their sockets. So thank you SO much Rebecca!! <3

Anyway on to the actual review, I apologise if it is all over the place, I'm still trying to organise my thoughts! I absolutely adored this book. To the point that it is probably my favourite book of the year. At least so far. Now I don't say that often, if ever, because there are so many amazing books out there and I enjoy so many its hard to pick just one favourite. Well. I kind of blew all that out the window with Storm. So I sat down to read this at about 1 in the afternoon, putting off all the other books I was currently reading and review books. I am so glad I did. It was truly incredible, I finished it in one sitting. One glorious, Merrick brother's filled sitting *Swoon*.  One of the main indicators for me of whether a book is great or not is how much I mind people interrupting me while I read. I generally don't mind people (the parentals) asking me things etc while I'm reading... But seriously, while reading Storm I just did not want to be interrupted. I even got slightly mad a couple times, giving the death glare, because I just didn't want to be taken away from its pages.
Now that you know I am totally in love with this book I feel I can move onto the story... Sorry that wasn't right. I am totally in love with this book AND the Merrick brothers.

Storm starts off with our leading lady, Becca, in self defence class, annoyed at the teachers lack of enthusiasm. Upon leaving the class, which I believe is in the school gym, she comes across a fight in the car park. It's two against one. Seth and Tyler against Chris. Chris Merrick <3. He is not fairing to well in the fight, so Becca decides to intervene, she turns on her car and starts towards Chris's attackers, scaring them off. Chris is now unconscious on the floor so Becca gives him some of her water, which instantly makes him feel better. It starts to rain. Becca drives Chris home to his house full of brothers. All become very anxious once they see Chris, even think Becca has something to do with it. Becca can't get out of there fast enough.

So then Becca meets Hunter, who personally I wasn't a huge fan of from the start, something just felt off about him. Plus I wanted her to be with Chris... That is all I will say on that topic because I don't want to give to much away to you all!

Becca is a feisty, kind and totally kick ass kind of girl. She's not afraid to stand up for herself, at least not anymore. I honestly loved her as a character

Then there is the Merrick brothers. Chris, Gabrielle, Nick, Michael. Chris, Gabrielle, Nick, Michael. Chris, Gabrielle, Nick, Michael. Chris, Gabrielle, Nick, Michael. Remember those names, though they are pretty hard to forget after reading Storm. All are hot, sexy and oh so temperamental. With an added twist. They can control the elements. WOW. Such a unique twist on the story, something I haven't read or heard much about happening in other books.

I loved the concept of Storm and of course the Merrick brothers if you hadn't already gathered that. Such a unique read and a lovely style of writing showcased by Brigid Kemmerer. She is a genius and I cannot wait to see what she has pulled together for the second in the series Spark which has hit Aussie shelves recently! I'm not sure how I still haven't picked it up, it should be top priority!

If you haven't already read Storm then seriously just go do it. You really won't regret it!

Like the sound of storm? Then check out my reviews for A Witch in Winter by Ruth Warburton and Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi both books I very much enjoyed :)

What do you think about Storm and the oh so dreamy Merrick brothers? Which brother is your favourite? I have a feeling Gabrielle will be mine, but I just love them all! It's like asking a mother to pick her favourite child, right?!

Happy reading!

AMY! I'm so excited you loved it so much! And OMG. BECCA. She's amazing, right? I'm convinced she is not, in fact, human. It's the only possible explanation for how you can fit THAT MUCH AWESOME INTO ONE HUMAN SIZED PACKAGE.

Anyway. Where was I going with this? OH YES! STOOOOOOOOOOOORM! EEEEE! I'm so glad you loved, and wait -- just WAIT -- till you read Spark! ♥
